SECURING A TEFL POSITION IN VIETNAM
Most positions available in Vietnam are through private language institutes. A bachelor degree is sometimes not required, although it is strongly preferred. A recognized TEFL is a must. Rural areas offer very few opportunities besides volunteering while Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi offer the most opportunities. Language schools hire year round, so interested candidates may apply at any time.
Applications may be done online, but very few employers use this method, and will try and fill positions with in-person candidates. Most teachers go to Vietnam and look for a position from within the country with much more success. Check online, check directories, and go knocking on all the school doors you can find. Due to the high demand, you will very quickly secure a position that meets your needs.
