About life in Czechia
Located right at the center of Europe, Prague, also known as the “golden city” due to its wealth of cultural heritage, is not only the capital of Czechia, but also represents one of cultural centers of the entire continent. Despite its thousand-year long history, the city is rapidly developing and hosts a large international community. Despite being a hub for many Fortune 500 companies, Prague retains its charm as a rich historical city.
With over 2000 castles, countless museums, strong beer culture, and impressive architecture one thing is for sure – you will never get bored in the Czechia.
Prague is also very centrally located which makes it a great homebase for those inclined to explore the continent. If you are taking a train or a bus, it takes about 4 hours to get to Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava; 8 hours to Budapest, Warsaw, Venice, Munich, Croatia, Slovenia; and a 2-hour plane flight to Oslo, London, Greece, Madrid, Paris, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Tallinn. The travel is also very affordable, and all of these locations serve as great destinations for a long weekend or a several week holiday!
Despite being a popular tourist destination, the cost of living in Prague remains very reasonable. Paired with abundant and well-paid teaching opportunities that the city offers, this makes for a fantastic destination for future ESL teachers!

The average teaching remuneration is between $1,350 – $2,500 USD per month depending on hours secured.
